So you can create any combination of sources, noise control, and receivers you want. Then you can have as many "scenarios" as you want, which contain subsets of GeoFiles. These can contain sources, terrain, receivers, buildings, etc. Basically, everything is in layers (called GeoFiles). My former employer abandoned their licenses in favor of CadnaA because nobody else could figure it out.

I have always liked the way SP is laid out, but the learning curve is steep.
Buy cadnaa full version#
I believe that if you let it lapse with CadnaA, you have to pay whatever you would have paid had you not let it lapse, whereas SP has a cap to this amount.Īt least here in the US, if you buy SP Essential (about $3500), there is no maintenance fee and they will give you the full purchase price toward the purchase of the full version if you decide to upgrade in the future. Then there is a sizable maintenance fee every year if you want tech support and updates.
Buy cadnaa license#
I currently only have a license for SoundPlan Essential, as I lost access to the full version (was through another firm), and had to buy something for myself.īoth CandaA and SoundPlan are around the same price for what you're interested in doing. I have about 15 years of experience with SoundPlan, and have never used CadnaA. I've spent a lot of time on this question, though, and will try to provide some insight. They're so damn expensive that you kind of have to do your research and make the jump.

I've found that very few people, at least in the US, have extensive experience with both SP and CandaA.
